Hunting, General Recreation, and Land Leasing

Lyme Great Lakes Timberlands has a longstanding tradition of providing public recreational opportunities. With its extensive network of water resources—including miles of rivers and numerous lakes and ponds—the property offers a wide range of activities such as hiking, hunting, fishing, and other non-motorized uses.

These activities are permitted on the majority of the property (visit this interactive map of our lands). Further, nearly all the lands are enrolled in the Commercial Forest Program (CF) in Michigan or in the Managed Forest Law Program (MFL) in Wisconsin that allow for public use. If you plan to visit the timberlands, be sure to follow our Recreation Policy.

A network of other designated trails including hiking, snowmobile, and ATV trails cross the property and are open to the public. You can visit the Michigan and Wisconsin DNR websites to find maps of these trails.

Land Lease program

Lyme Great Lakes Forest Management also has a Land Lease program for some of our lands not enrolled in the CF or MFL programs. For information or questions related to our Land Lease Program please call our Escanaba office at (906)789-9076.
