Our forestry team plans harvesting across the property to achieve long- term forest management objectives. To do so, we contract with independent logging and road construction businesses for timber harvesting activities.
Timber Harvesting and Wood Sales
We seek to establish long-term, fair, and mutually beneficial relationships with experienced regional businesses. All contractors are required to have annual training to be current on the best harvesting practices to assure a healthy forest, clean water, and safe working conditions. Our field foresters administer and monitor road construction work and the timber harvesting to ensure compliance with internal operational controls and FSC® and SFI® forest certification standards.
Lyme Great Lakes Timberlands supplies a large variety of species and products to our many valued customers. Special attention is given to maximizing the value of any tree harvested. Some of our products include specialty figured wood, slicer and rotary veneer, sawlogs and bolts for lumber, pallets, and flooring, and pulpwood for papermaking and oriented strand board (OSB) home siding.
